Nature's Patterns

We have had a cloudy, cold day. On my way home from Physio I sidetracked to Pollard Park in search of a Blip. The light was a bit depressing and not conducive to photography. However the intricate patterns of the bark on the some of the Park's trees caught my eye....I would appreciate someone telling me the name of this tree. Nature's Patterns!
