Here be Dragons!

Before the Humber Bridge was built there was Paddle Steamer service from Hull and the other side of the River Humber was referred to as being "abroad" among us schoolkids, we used to joke that the map of the other side was marked with "Here be Dragons"
This is the View from the Barton on Humber foreshore.
The Lincolnshire folk were called "Yellow Bellies" not because they were cowards but for various odd reasons depending  who you ask
Lincolnshire Yellowbellies
And oddly the Urban myth in East Yorkshire is none of those things, rather that it was the practice to cover a Bride to be's belly with Gold Sovereigns as a Dowry.
