Yankee Doodle Dandy

Last night seemed pretty quiet for a 4th of July. There isn't an official fireworks display in town, and private fireworks are illegal. That doesn't usually stop folks from putting on a big show at the beach and in the neighborhoods, but this year there was a lot of publicity about fines and fire danger that seemed to tone things down. The cats were a little upset at the intermittent noise, but I think the people got a good night's sleep. This morning dawned grey and foggy once again. Folks at the beachfront hotel haven't quite emerged yet.
