Getting up close
We miss so much by viewing our wildlife from a height of around 5-6 feet and at a distance of 3+ feet. It's getting harder with age, but I recommend getting down on your knees or, better still, stomach and taking in a close view. This particular view is of a Common Spotted Orchid which now grows in my garden after I rescued a small piece of turf from a local site which was being excavated. Quite a few interesting plants have continued to flower and spread seed as a result.
