Soweto

Today we went on a tour of Soweto with a wonderful guide, Snowy who'd been recommended. What an interesting person - she was full of information and chatted her way round Johannesburg showing us places of interest and finally taking us to Soweto where we stopped to chat with some unemployed lads who were fixing a car; then we went to see a herbalist and her wares through a busy market place. We also went to the Constitutional Court - fascinating place - and saw several works of art by local people. We went to the Hector Pieterson Memorial - needed more time than we had but what a shameful time in the country's history. Will definitely have to come back again.
