Juvenile Long-eared Owl
First of all, I want to thank everyone who left lovely comments, stars and hearts on my 730th blip! They are all very much appreciated! I hope to be able to answer you all individually soon but it might not be until I get home.
I decided that I will post a day behind while I'm camping. It's easier for me to go over each day's pictures the next day. I'm too tired by the end of the day to really look at them.
After we got set up yesterday I was relaxing outside when I saw an owl fly by and land in a tree near in our campsite. I got up to get a closer look and I saw that it was joining its 3 siblings (see extra). They were so cute just hanging out together. Then around dusk we heard a call from another tree farther away and they started chirping (do baby owls chirp?) in answer. Eventually they each flew off in the direction of the call but we saw and heard them throughout the evening. We were very happy to have this lovely welcoming committee!
