Rocky Mountain Moments

Adult Long-eared Owl

The owls spent the day in trees around our campsite again.  Pipersdad spotted this adult in a tree closer to the lake and this is a shot of him or her with its ears blowing in the wind.  The first extra is not a great shot but I might never have a chance to capture another owl in flight and I actually got the whole bird in the frame....if only I had held the camera still.  The second extra is another shot of two of the juveniles in the early morning light. The third  is the adult again, this time without the wind.  They got busy around dusk with calling to each other and flying around.  After dinner we sat by the campfire and between the fire, the reflections in the lake and the hooting, flying owls, it was quite a show.  :-)

Thank you to everyone who visited yesterday and left lovely comments, stars and hearts.  They are all appreciated very much!
