Pathetic Papayas

My Thai friends would look at this fruit and ask, What is it? I too, had to read the label on my trip back to the States because I just wasn't familiar with the supermarket's produce.

These are quite pathetic papayas compared to those that are two or three times this size, with a nice, smooth orange color growing on the tree outside our dorm in Thailand. (They are also two or three times the price too!) But, when you don't live in a tropical country, you take what you can get (and enjoy it fully!)
