Onlookers

These young monks look on as a woman releases a floating lantern at the temple. Usually lanterns are released on holidays or for special occasions. But they are also released just for fun, for the experience or for an individual's personal reasons...the later would be my guess in this picture. For some, the experience is full of laughter and smiles; for others it is a solemn, thoughtful, intimate experience.
