Slow worm
Anguis fragilis
My first ever Slow Worm! How cool is this? I believe it is a female. She was coiled up on the side of a small ant hill, I suppose ant hills give off some heat so she must have been soaking up some of that in the absence of proper sunshine. They mainly eat slugs and being lizards, have eyelids - something I never really thought about before!
