Afternoon Tea

Exactly 6 months since my 'Ancient Aunt' was taken to hospital by ambulance after a fall at home and now in a nursing home, today we went out to tea. We have been on outings with the home - in a minibus, with carers on hand - but she has improved so much that we felt confident that she could come out with me alone  and safely transfer between wheelchair and car. She still needs the oxygen but the small cylinder fits in the bag on the back of the chair. This is the garden centre/farm shop where we used to go for Sunday Lunch but today they had a special Afternoon Tea with a band playing from 2.30 - 4.30. We could have done without the band, actually, as it was too loud to allow any conversation at all - a keyboard played gently in the background would have been much better. It was lovely to take her out again and she enjoyed it very much. We will go out more often now we are sure we can manage on our own
