A Walk and Food

We had a WomenWhoWalk on a friday for a change as Nellie of The Woods thought it would be nice to get us all together and have a meal before the madness of the summer starts! We met on the Quay at 6 and 6 of us walked along the river, past the Boatyard and the smart house with Housemartins, up into the woods and to Cotehele gardens. We went through the gate which was not locked and walked down past the Dovecote and the beautiful Californian Poppies and out through the unlocked gate at the bottom back into the woods. Lucky no one caught us! Nellie then left us to go to her singing group!
We walked back the way we came and met with the 6 others who couldn't make the walk at the new cafe whose owner had stayed open for us.  She had  made us a glorious meal of hummus and bread, tart, quiche and salad, and for pudding chocolate cake, trifle or rhubarb crumble! What a perfect evening!
