Birthday weekend

First Birthday celebrations of the weekend - we went to a party down in Kent for a friend of ours who has just turned 50.  I'm never too keen on posting photos of people without asking permission - and I'm usually too shy to ask permission - so here are some pretty flowers from their garden instead.

We drove down at lunchtime, picking up one of their friends on the way, and arrived just in time for a delicious buffet in their fabulous garden.  We chatted away to various people, including her folks who had come all the way from St Louis, Missouri, and Cris (whose Birthday it was) and her friend both sang a couple of songs (they are proper serious opera-y type singers) for everyone.

We stayed until after 7, then drove back home.  Poor Tim did well to get through the day with a serious case of man flu, and was relieved to get home and relax.  Hope he's ok tomorrow!
