Safari!
Today I went on an owl and badger safari!
The weather had looked awful - and at times it was - but I had the most fab evening. It was run by Robert Fuller - here's his website ..
We started by meeting Robert and his pet weasel, Fidget, at the gallery and watched the kestrels coming in to feed as he talked us through the screens showing the live webcam views from various nests and dens around his land.
Then off to local trees where we saw six baby tawny owls in one tree and their mum (foster mum in some cases) in another.
After that we headed off to see badgers - it poured and poured with rain but eventually three badgers appeared in poor light.
Next back to the gallery and into Robert's lounge - where we watched seven tawny owls come in to feed - while a stoat played in the logs below and a hedgehog moseyed by.
Above the French windows were screens showing the goings on in various wildlife spots around his garden and nearby, via his webcams - inside the stoats' home, a kestrel nest, a barn owl nest etc etc ..
Brilliant!
