So Happy Together...
Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love and hold her tight
So happy together...
-- The Turtles, 1967
So, I can't get that darned song out of my head and now, if you remember it, you probably can't either. No need to thank me, really...
I had a great hike this morning on one of my favorite trails. It's prime breeding ground for Yellow Warblers, who are one of our first warblers to arrive each spring, and also one of the first to leave. I went there this morning, hoping to see some before they start heading south in a few weeks. And, while I did see and hear quite a few, the shots I got were only so-so, and I ended up being in more of a macro frame of mind.
Luckily, this is also a great trail for all kinds of neat insects, including these little fourteen-spotted lady beetles. These are very small lady beetles and tend to scurry under leaves, making them somewhat challenging to photograph. However, these two were so ... ahem... preoccupied that I was able to snap off several shots before they scurried away.
Lots of Eastern forktail damselflies on the trail, as well as a few lovely little Pearl crescent butterflies. I also saw a most curious asian multispotted lady beetle and as soon as I get an explanation as to what was happening to it, I'll post a photo.
Thanks for the nice comments on my bar scene yesterday - I know it's very out of my wheelhouse, but it is fun to deviate once in a while.
Happy Tiny Tuesday, people!
