When worlds collide...
How could I not blip this today? The wasp is a male four-toothed mason wasp and the other creature is a Sycamore assassin bug. I was watching the assassin bug, kind of hoping he'd, well, assassinate something when along came the wasp. I wasn't sure what to expect, although I know that these wasps generally feed on caterpillars or katydids, not assassin bugs - however, the assassin clearly wasn't totally sure about that, judging from the defensive posture. The wasp flew off after gathering nectar and the assassin continued to hunt. Not the exciting ending I was hoping for, but still fun to watch.

Lunch today with a friend, then took Phoebe to the vet to check her heart murmur (unchanged, thank goodness). She (Phoebe) also had a little bacterial infection in both ears so got her treated for that, which she didn't care for. She's now busy trying to get the vet smell off of herself while Charlie gives her the big eyes.
And it's Wild Wednesday ...
