Candy Stripe Spider
Enoplognatha ovata. I saw two of these today, in opposite points of the garden, which is interesting all by itself. I feel guilty about this one because I didn't notice it or its egg case until the host plants were trimmed and in the greenwaste can. And there was the spider, running frantically to and fro over the fronds. Of course I ran in for the camera at the first red and white glimmer. I took the relevant plant parts back to where they came from, and the spider kept running around til she was able to settle on the cocoon. I read later that she will stay with the eggs until they hatch. Then I felt really bad. I hope they stand a chance the way I left them. I'll check tomorrow.
