High Summer...

After the 'June lull', the time in the year after the spring flowers are in bloom and the high summer flowers start with all the hot colours is over. June, apart from the roses, is mostly green. Well the hot coloured summer flowers are here. Yellow and rust coloured Heleniums and purple Astilbes in this picture. Quite where high summer is we're not sure. We've had rain and leaden skies for weeks. It feels more like October or April than July.
