Birch Grove...

First day free (mostly) in weeks and I needed to get a few jobs done. Top of my list was getting my hair cut. I headed into the city to have it cut at my favourite BarberBarber in Barton Arcade. My route took me through the Royal Exchange Theatre where I was completely taken by surprise and aback by the grove of Birch trees that had appeared in the foyer. They are a delight.

Apparently they are there as part of the production of 'The Skriker', one of the productions that has been done as part of the Manchester International Festival. It features the wonderful Maxine Peake. It's been a hit with the audiences and critics alike. In fact, the entire festival has been a huge success it seems.
