Truly gutted!

We pitched the tent in the strong Mistral wind and then learnt that the end of tomorrow's stage of Le Tour de France was going to finish about 5k short of the top because of the severe wind. The choice was walking up and over the top and down about 5k or packing up and going to watch the cyclists on their way to Ventoux.
We chose to pack up as did many other campers. A huge disappointment all round. The wind is very very strong and comes in huge gusts . We went to have a tasty Italian meal and hope to catch the cyclists tomorrow elsewhere. However the mountain views were stunning as the air is so clear.
