Get a room!

I'm on a roll recently with bug porn ... in fact, I'm trying to catch up to Hillyblips and JDO and the only way I could see to do that was to capture not two but FOUR sexy little beetles!  This is actually an easy shot this time of year, as the Red Milkweed Longhorn beetles are all over the milkweed plants and they are all busy making new beetles.  

Had a great walk with my naturalist group this morning - weather forecast was for scattered thunderstorms so only six of us showed up. But we lucked out in that it was only hot and sticky - no rain.  And, we saw all kinds of neat things.  I have posted six shots on Flickr, starting HERE with a robberfly with mites.  Headed home after lunch which was a good decision as the weather took a turn for the worse.  We lost power for a short while at home, but all is well and the sun is out again.

The little bluebirds are starting to look a bit more like bird now.  I'll try to get a shot tomorrow and post it.  And less than 50 feet away, Mama wren is sitting on her clutch of eggs in another nest box.
