School sports day
The commitment, joviality and support of teaching staff, families and last but never least, the children, makes this a compulsory afternoon out in my calendar.
The first image is our younger grandsprog aged 5. He won his race but dropped his egg a yard from the line (Yard - no French inches) His teacher, Miss Berry cheered him on and was delighted when he won. She was equally supportive of all the children.
The next is our elder grandsprog setting himself up for the 50 yard dash. Every inch gained before crossing the line and every bit of Usain Bolt styling makes for a fleet footed individual. (He is in the blue sash)
The extra is from a race which had not been scheduled. After the Mum's then Dad's race the children began chanting "Teachers - Teachers" until they gave in and got ready to race. Rarely have I seen such unadulterated cowboy tactics in a 50 yard dash. Brilliant fun, enhancing the teacher's positions within the school, as the children went bonkers cheering them on.
