Not the Smartest Bar in Campbeltown
Grocery shopping over by mid morning then we headed south to Carskey Beach for a walk on the beach to make the most of the day.
Maeve had a lovely time going in and out of the water and we attracted the attentions of a young grey seal (see my extra shot ).
Who was very curious about us and kept popping up to see what we were doing :-)
We were lucky to have the beach to ourselves as we watched several companies of gannets fly low over the water and a couple of Dunlins down at the seashore.
On the way home we stopped at Keil cemetry to watch more seals and we were lucky to see a young female and her pup hauled out on the nearby rocks.
No produce for sale today at the farm stand we stopped at a couple of weeks back where we got the lovely mixed salad for 50p.
We did, however ,stop in Campbeltown to buy some freshly made ice cream with added tablet pieces :-)
Obviously aimed at the local market and the West of Scotland sweet tooth :-)
Spotted this derelict sign when we stopped in town.
I have a fondness for the stories of Para Handy and have fond memories of the TV series from the 70's which featured Roddy Macmillan as Para Handy :-)
