The Unexpected Return of Lady Hilary's Husband..!!

I couldn't resist blipping this picture! Hope it gives you a laugh too! ;-))

We visited Bourton-on-the-Water today - a very picturesque little town here in the Cotswolds. One of the major attractions there is a 1/9th scale model of the village itself (see below). Within the model village complex is an extra exhibition of miniature scenes - the intricacy of the details in the scenes is amazing. This is one of them - the whole scene is only about 2 feet wide. Great fun!

The first extra is the model of the entrance to the exhibition itself - as you'll see it's very convincing (I had to kneel down to get the shot from the best angle of course). The second extra is a view in the model village with some random visitors behind to give a sense of scale.

I'm grateful to blip buddy ChrisPBacon for the third extra. He kindly recommended that we visit the village of Blockley which isn't on the main tourist trail. We stopped there on the way back to our accommodation and had a lovely walk in the countryside round about; the picture shows the village church (with the clock stopped at 12 o'clock!  ;-))

We'll reluctantly be leaving the Cotswolds tomorrow and will stop in Cheshire for a night on the way home, to visit Mum-in-Law. I have no doubt that we'll be back here before long however.
