Culprits Identified
When out in the garden this morning, I had another look at the damage caused to the old tree trunk which I thought had been the work of woodpeckers. It was nothing of the sort and the culprits were soon identified as .......... wasps!!
Several of them flew in and out of the holes in the trunk and I realised the damage was even more extensive than first thought, with more holes and channels in the trunk gouged out by these tiny insects.
To add insult to injury, my husband has discovered the wasps are making at least one, if not two nests in our gable end wall and they can be seen flying in and out of the airbricks high up!! Time to call in Pest Control!
