Meet baby Elizabeth .....

... an Asian elephant born on 10th June. She was named Elizabeth as she was born on HM The Queen's official 90th birthday.

Today I headed over to Whipsnade Zoo again, this time for a meet with friends and fellow blippers Steve Oldfield, Colin Strong, Neil Jackson and Terry Mahoney (possibly a soon to be blipper!). 

We headed to the elephant enclosure first in the hope that the elephants (and baby Elizabeth) would be out in the fields and sure enough they were. Elizabeth was never far from mum, Karishma and the rest of the herd. We spent the rest of the day wandering round the zoo and managed to see most of the animals on this large 600 acre site. 

A really enjoyable day; the weather was sunny and warm (actually it got pretty hot in the sun!) and, as usual, loads of fun and laughs were had.

Ended the day with a refreshing drink and a small bite to eat in a local pub.
