Shoes Out For Summer!

Yes, my daughter has actually been wearing these to school. At 3.30 this afternoon I gave them a ceremonial burial.
The year 6 Leavers Assembly was an emotional  one. The children had made a music video (One Direction's 'History' was a very appropriate choice of backing track) and then sang their own version of 'Seven Years' by Lukas Graham which was very relevant as they started the school at 7 years old.
There were a few tears shed by parents in the audience with dads managing to hold it together until the last song when it become clear that most of the year 6 children were bawling their eyes out, hugging, sobbing and holding onto eachother. Oh my word. There was barely a dry eye in the house.
Time to move on now. We have lots to keep us occupied. D's sister and family arrive tonight and it's our final choir practice before Saturday.
The excitement is mounting!
