Johannesburg
Up sharp again for a hearty breakfast to face our longest drive of the trip, unfortunately in the best weather we have had so far - blue skies and sunshine all the way.
Shared the driving on a 300km plus drive into Free State to Johannesburg along straight roads that went on and on and on.
Arrived, as you can see, in late afternoon rush hour and made our way to Sandton, known as 'Africa's richest square mile', to our final destination apartment block, accessed through barrier opened only by finger-print recognition and manned by armed guards. Gulp!
An absolutely gorgeous, orange sunset that I missed capturing on camera and then quick shower and change and off by taxi to the Buthcher Shop and Grill in Nelson Mandela Square - well-known in Johannesburg for its reputation for first class fresh meat and sea food. The beautiful boys each managed fresh oysters followed by a 500 gram steak, washed down with good local wine. What a life.
