A Day's Difference
What a difference a day makes. Hurricane Frank has moved north and the sun has returned with a vengeance, which is good news for all the tourists who are in town for a holiday at the beach. It is a much different beach scene this time of year, though truth be known we are usually inland during this time.
Rather than ignore the beach vendors, as do most gringo tourists, these visitors embrace whatever they are promoting. Parachute flights, jet skis, sailboats, paddle boards, and the ever popular banana boat ride are enjoyed all day long. Many sales spots along the beach are only operated during these high season summer weeks. Such was the case with this group of banana boaters. They were with a new outfit that had a great deal of trouble getting them out past the waves. I watched them tip over three times (as they did immediately following this exposure), dumping all riders into the ocean, before they were able to hook up to the speed boat for a tow around the bay. The experienced vendors up and down the beach were getting them in place without any such mishaps.
