Orchids

Day 3.
From campsite went up through the village and then steadily up through the forest onto open hills covered in Alpenrose. The climbing was less steep and we reached our first peak, Aiguileette de Posettes, (2201m) with great views in all directions.
A descent to a shelter for lunch and then up again and over into Switzerland across some snow patches. The descent led through a sea of marsh marigolds, past summer chalets and fighting cows (they weren't fighting at the time but do like to fight each other and extablish a hierarchy) before another steep descent through forest to camp at Triente. No showers here but were some basic facilities and a nice meal in the village before a very heavy shower.
Many flowers, especially in the more sheltered spots and the extra is of globe flowers.
