Lunch with 'Harebrain'
Look who is in Cornwall at the moment – Nikki, alias 'Harebrain', and today we met up with her in Perranporth. Nikki comes to Cornwall every July and we always meet up with her for our own mini Blip meet.
First we went for a little walk on the beach. Perranporth Beach is dog friendly all the year round but unfortunately at this time of year doggies have to be kept on their leads. That meant I didn't get to do any splish, splash, sploshing. Boohoo!
Then we went to the Tywarnhayle Inn for lunch. Ann had a prawn cocktail and Nikki had duck pate. I really liked the smell of the duck pate so I sat ever so nicely and gave Nikki my appealing look. Unfortunately she didn't give me any duck pate but do you know what she said? …...........She said, 'Molly, I'm going to buy you a doggie ice cream after lunch.'
I was soooooooo excited. We first spotted the 'doggie ice cream shop' in January but I've never, ever had any doggie ice cream. For the rest of lunch I just lay under the table in good dog mode because I was a bit worried that if I continued to try and scavenge food from Nikki, Ann wouldn't let me have any ice cream.
Doggie ice cream is the most yummy thing in the world. There was a choice of three flavours and I chose rabbit and venison but do you know what? There was none of that left, so I had beef flavour instead. It was simply delicious (see extras). The man in the ice cream shop said that he sold loads of doggie ice cream. Haven't we become a nation of pampered pooches?!
Anyway it was lovely to see you Nikki. We really appreciated you taking time out of your busy schedule to meet up with us. See you again next year. Xxx
PS – Ann is going to look on the internet for doggie ice cream recipes and if I'm very very good she's going to make me some at home. Yay!
