The Grey Heron

I think the lack of water sports up at the loch is encouraging the heron to leave his regular post on the island.  I wasn't expecting to see this handsome guy standing amongst the willowherb at the edge of the water.  Herons aren't easily spooked and this one stayed put for quite a while .... think he was looking for a tasty something for his lunch.

I do hope the algae problem gets cleared up soon.  No sailing lessons and no kayaking since the beginning of June.  The loch should be alive with water sports  but the boat sheds are closed, the wet suits are locked away and the birds have the water to themselves.
