Diary of an Edinburgher

New hat

JR's morning gym regime was completed again today, though a slightly shortened version, there being a few pains that weren't there before. Besides, Becky was coming to take Archie out, so she had to be back to hand him over (I was still in bed).

Such energy she has! She then baked a cake for tomorrow's visitors, washed and hung out the sheets, as well as mowing the lawn. She's never done it before, I've always done it, and may have led her to believe that it was quite hard going. Ha! I've been rumbled - it's an easy peasy 20 minutes with hardly any effort.

JR then declared her intention of going into town because she 'hasn't been there all holidays'. Besides, she has a voucher from her staff to spend at her favourite shop and she wants to show them when they go back to school (already more than half way through the hols!)

Still not sleeping well at night due to a constant dull ache rather than searing pain, but I rang the doctor and asked for another week's supply of pain killers. No problem. I even walked all the way there and all the way back.

I rewarded myself with an Almond Magnum. And I wish I hadn't bothered. The Almond Magnum tray in the freezer has been untouched since the first one I had when I came home. I'm off my food - I have no desire for coffee either - my meal of choice is toast and tea.

Bailey and Janet came to pick Archie up for a big walk in the Braids all afternoon, so I had a snooze on the sofa and did my exercises.

JR came back from town pleased with her purchases, though she did not choose the Big One. But she was even more pleased to have met some new people moving in round the corner, and they had a cute little schnauzer called Brian! Hope we can arranged a schnauzer meeting soon.

Stuck my new hat, which I got ages ago, on his head for a quick photo. He suits it better than I do.

Apologies, I'm not getting around to commenting as much as I should
