Rather him than me!

This young man is fixing our chimney pot and while he is at it replacing the Chinese hats to stop birds coming down the chimney - he bounded up the ladders with his bucket of cement and seemed unconcerned he was 3 storeys up.

Like everything we get done in our 1903 house nothing is ever straightforward and the liner he planned to fit was too wide but the good news was that the original clay liners are still in good condition and no need for his fancy metal liner ! All this to get a wood burning stove fitted in the room next door and the liner for it does fit - a job for tomorrow.
