Mrs Evil Goat

Up at the crack of dawn

We were actually up before dawn to catch our dolphin watching boat (alarm went at 5am (actually 4am in UK!) . This photo was taken sailing into the sunrise. The light was beautiful. Tobes spent the whole trip laid on his tummy on the 'trampoline' bit at the front of the large catamaran we were on, watching the waves and the sunrise. He looked so comfortable and confident. He knew where he wanted to be. Just before we saw the dolphins Eva was sea sick and just after we had seen them I was but other than that it was a great trip and a good way to see some of the coast line on the way out of the harbour too. We saw quite a few dolphins. Eva was so excited every time she saw one and some jumped out of the water really close to the boat. I have tried to photograph them before and just got numerous pictures of the water. But right at the end the dolphins came along side the boat and I managed to get one jumping out of the water. Total fluke as I had only just picked up my camera and quality obviously not great but you can see it was a dolphin!

We got back to the port at around 9.30 am so went for brekky and then Mike collected our hire car and me and the kids went back to the apartment. Everyone tired so we chilled out and Tobes wrote some more of his 'Danger Toby' book.

After lunch we headed out in the car to explore Cap de Formentor. The road out of Porto Pollenca was very twisty and involved a steep drop off a cliff with only a wonky looking wooden crash barrier to keep you up there should anything go wrong. I held my breath every time we met a car in the opposite direction as it was so narrow that there was only just room to squeeze by.

The beach at Formentor was very beautiful but ridiculously busy. We had to walk right up to the other end to find enough space to put our towels out, but then got joined by a large family who laid theirs just cm's away so was all a bit cosy really! We spent most of the time in the sea anyway. The water was lovely.

Toby and Eva made us laugh saying 'This is sick water' over and over again. The turquoise green water has been labelled as sick water by them because that was the colour of the water in the harbour where we took the boat from when Eva was seasick. They talked about sick water for the whole of the holiday and even had to buy some post cards with sick water on them!

We did lots of exploring and stopping for photos on the way back to Porto Pollenca as well as grabbing some food as we didn't want to go out again. We had a nice meal sat in the garden of our apartment.
