Flower Friday: Game

My Mum & Dad (and my Mum's family) were keen card players and my Grandad taught me to play the card game crib, or cribbage, when I was very young. One of my earliest memories is of playing the game on their scrubbed, wooden kitchen table by the light of a Tilley paraffin lamp.

This is the board on which you keep score, decorated with some surfinias from the garden.

After the morning swim,the rest of the day has been taken up with preparations for a family holiday in Cornwall with Chris, Kate & Sophie and Joel will be joining us in midweek when his college course finishes. Not sure whether we'll have Internet access so will post and comment as and when I can.
