Early start

Spending the weekend at the beach house. We'd invited friends to lunch, so I had to get some of the makings of what was a delicious meal. An early drive in to Warkworth to beat the crowds which now seem commonplace here on weekends, even in the winter. Before I left, I saw that the newly risen sun made a beautiful image from the deck.

It's a while since we've seen these friends, so a lot to talk about. Mostly local and world politics, as well as family stuff. I guess we are like many others around the world in trying to fathom the US system for electing their president. Hoping that the voters will be able to elect a woman as the alternative is too grim to contemplate.
