Friday 29th July 2016 (1434)

We set off for Morecambe mid-morning "on a mission". Unfortunately we got caught up in a major traffic jam on the M6. Although we tried an alternative route that was just as bad. The journey took us 2.5hrs instead of 1hr! We were ready for our fish and chips when we got there, which we ate sitting on the wall looking at the beautiful view across to the Lakes, which was wonderful and clear.

Of course, we had to visit Eric's statue. Trying to get a photo without people was a challenge, there were a lot of people wanting to do "the pose". One man was trying to explain to his son (teenage/early 20s?) who Eric was ... is it really that dated, am I getting old?

We undertook our mission, looking at flats ... think I've got that out of my system again! Because we'd lost time earlier we were late leaving. The drive back was better, although I did take a wrong turning at one point and we went a bit out of our way.
