Blimey

Set off early from Bologna and drove across country via the mountains to our villa between Pisa and Lucca. Stopped on the way to see this-the devil's bridge (so called because the devil finished it by the deadline date for a builder who was running late, in return for the soul of the first to cross the next morning. The wily builder sent a pig across and the devil never reappeared!)

Anyway, stopped at a supermarket to stock up for a couple of days then arrived at the villa. Slightly gobsmacked-more like a museum stacked full of strange memorabilia than a house-everywhere full of stuff and so many rooms! I'll post photos another day-all been a bit too frantic and busy to be organised enough to do that (and apologies for lack of commenting too....)
Not long afterwards they all started to arrive and were equally amazed. Soon time to go and pick up M&H&AR from the airport...lovely to see them and so good to have everyone together again.
K had made vast vats of pasta and salad and we eventually worked out where everything we needed was in the kitchen. We weren't sure about eating on the long dining table so stayed in the kitchen, but think we'll need to branch out a bit tomorrow.
Headed for bed....wonder if we'll sleep?!
