Parliment Dinner

We have had a very full on day!

The day started with a good breakfast and then a guided walk around Berlin that took in the history of the Berlin Wall.   We were with another couple for the tour who turned out to be from the Yarra Valley in Australia (we were living there this year!) and came from Lilydale!!!!  Such a small world....

After our tour, Chris and I decided to walk back to our hotel and en route stopped at a funky little riverside bar.  After a few cool drinks we walked to the next bar!!  We took in Check Point Charlie (very commercial now!) and then headed back to our hotel to get ready for our dinner.

Dinner today was arranged a few weeks ago as there is security measures in place and you have to provide certain information up front to gain a reservation.  Armed with our invite and passports we cleared security and enjoyed a fabulous dinner on the roof of the Parliament building.  Fascinating structure of glass and old architecture.  Dinner was beautiful and my blip today is of the setting sun and part of the 'Dome' reflecting in the glass of the roof top restaurant.

After dinner, we walked off our food and had a look at Brandenburg Gate, walked passed the French Embassy (lots of flowers had been laid) and passed the British Embassy.  Lots of security clearly present  (I have no problem with that!).

In total we have walked 8miles today.

Fabulous day and now time for a cuppa and bed!
