On Some Days

Another Wet Sunday In Turangi . . .

is what we used to say when we lived in that small town many years ago.  We seemed to have a long period of wet Sundays and the saying went into the family language memory bank.  It gets used again when we have days like today which are cold, grey and have heavy showers of rain passing through.  Thank goodness for the fire and music.  I have been singing away as I sorted out my lessons for the coming week.
These rose hips were snapped when there was a break in the showers and a fleeting bit of sunlight.  The pink in the background is from the rhododendron Christmas Cheer which is almost fully out and providing some pale pink cheer.

Dripping rose hips cheer
Smeared impressions of light
Cold rain squalls paused
