Teeny, Tiny Dragonfly

I have no idea what this little critter is.  He looks like  dragonfly but I don't think I've ever seen one so small.  He's maybe an inch long.  I felt bad when he alighted on this flower because it's a fake daisy so I'm sure he was disappointed. (I can't have any real flowers on my back step because the deer eat them -- even things the nursery says deer won't eat,)  Anyway, is this maybe a baby dragonfly?  I know nothing about them, so this has me mystified.   If some of you dragonfly experts out there in blipland would enlighten me I'd appreciate it.
