Bearsted Classic Car Rally

A really varied day today. A walk to the garden centre with a (free) coffee thrown in. (We're coffee loyalty card tarts)

Then to Bearsted Village Green for a quick shufti around the classic cars in display. First time we've called in over the many years the event has been held. Must make it a date for next year.

Lunch was a barbecue, the usual sausages, with home made burgers and vegetable kebabs followed by bananas done over the coals, split, filled with Green and Black's drinking chocolate and wrapped in foil. Served with clotted cream. Wonderful.

Final thing was an evening journey to Shropshire for a funeral tomorrow. Left Bearsted at 17.12 arrived in Wellington at 21.19, almost as quick as the car, more relaxing and probably cheaper for the 200 mile trip. Travelled on the one Sunday through train from Euston to Shrewsbury. Aptly named the Wrekin Giant.

Staying with my cousin Christine, so enjoyed wine and cheese before bedtime. I wonder if there will be any effects from that late night intake?
