Halbardiers Of Switzerland

On 1st August, the Swiss National Day, many respectable Swiss citizens have a massive dressing up party to celebrate (with lots of Swiss wine of course). The Halbardiers, Swiss mercenary soldiers of the 14th and 15th centuries, were reputed to be the bravest soldiers of that time. Their descendants are probably the most colourful in the August 1st procession and they have even adopted a Scottish piper into their ranks, to truly frighten the enemy! (See extra)
