At Last, a Great Banded Grayling

So often these fly through our garden, as soon as they stop, usually to warm up on the house walls, they instantly close their wings. Today this one was hanging out on the Buddleia, closed wings as usual, then a small butterfly bumped into it. It opened opened its wings for a second ... this was such a lucky shot! The underwing is in extra photos.

We had a great visit from the Swiss grandchildren and their cousin today for August 1st, Swiss National Day but got "watered" during the parade.

Thanks for all yesterday's presents for the Trient Glacier too.
