Looking toward Mont Dolent

Day 7
The Tour continues.
short bus journey to nearly where we stopped 2 days ago and then up through the woods to the Walter Bonatti hut where we had the most amazing hot chocolate - dark and thick.
Then we took the longer, higher, scenic route up a wide valley, with great views behind, at the edge of the cirque and then a climb out and a rest at the col. Then down into and across the second valley before another col where we turned off to reach the summit of the mountain at 2584m.
Then down along the ridge with constant views across to the Mont Blanc massif , another refuge for refreshments and a steep descent to Courmayer and ice cream.
