Mono Monday: Taste

So, we have the first of JDO's challenges for Mono Monday based around a theme of the five senses.  Today's theme is "taste", and in the end I've gone for a fairly obvious entry, given that I am in Scotland.  Its got to be a little taste of whisky.

However, to give this a twist, here is a shot of "Texas Martha" deep in discussion of which whisky to order, with the proprietor of the  The Pot Still here in Glasgow.  

Martha Field is an Austin based country / rock musician who Cathy and I ended up bumping into in the Pot Still, a Glasgow pub.  The Pot Still is the most amazing Whisky Pub - they stock 400 different varieties.  The Landlord is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, taking time to talk to each customer about the type of whisky they like or would like to try and then making a number of suggestions for them to try.  So quite an evening.  

Sadly Cathy was quite keen for me to come away before I sampled too many of the fine single malts on offer ...

Martha is over in the UK having played various gigs including one in Perth (possibly yesterday) and is off to play a festival in France the day after tomorrow, and then onwards to Italy.  She was a lovely intelligent articulate lady and great fun to spend some time with.
