Mono Monday: Taste

Ended up in this Rum Bar aka Sugar Dumplin at The Atrium in Camberley - as my offering of Taste for MM132!

How did we end up in Camberley?? Well, the day began with trying to get some practical things sorted out the Lodge (read: needing a maintenance man, or two). We weren't given a time as to when they would come, and as it was going to rain in the late afternoon, we decided we'd go out and do some of the things we wanted, and they could do the indoor stuff when it was raining.

First stop... Curry's/PC World. I wanted to check out what's new in electronics and we both enjoyed browsing their homeware section as well as their stereos. Some brilliant stuff coming out! Interesting to see how much retro stuff is being sold - like a stereo which converts digital back to analog (!!!) as the sound is smoother?? It even had valves which needed to heat up before you could start using it.

Homebase was the next destination; Laura Ashley to be precise, and we found a cushion that would be great, except there was only one. The very helpful saleslady tracked another two down in Camberley... so off we went to collect them. It started to rain by this time, and I reckoned it was perfect weather for hot chocolate, so we went on the hunt for somewhere to have one. Long story, but we ended up in this Rum Bar (???!!!) having hot chocolate! Just as well there weren't any other customers. Their happy hour menu made me think we were not their target customer by a long shot.

I thought the boat on the wall displaying their rum options and some other features were really cool... I did get asked why I was taking pictures, so explained about my online journal...

And then we got stuck in lots of traffic queues trying to get home. It took ages; and the rain ensured some ironing got done and some TV got watched! Fascinating documentary on Roy Orbison; a good reminder of his amazing catalog, so a Roy Orbison Greatest Hits CD is on the cards.
