Sleeping Giant

Everyone is on tenterhooks awaiting the high winds predicted for today. The monster sleeps at dawn, the occasional flare from a tree punctuates the mountainside and the residential area below. Another of my friends has lost their home. With no time to pack, most had less than 20 minutes to get loaded and out. However, another friend sneaked back into her home, hiking over a mile through burned forest, and found her home still standing. A cool bit of bad-assery on her part!
