...and Growing

The winds kicked the Roaring Lion further south and is now over 7,200 acres. More people were evacuated, about 300 households, both north and south of the active fire area. You can see the new areas explode in the picture....the lower fire just blew up before I took this picture from about 8 miles away. The highway is closed to all traffic....the only road in and out of the Bitterroot. Traffic, except for big rigs, is diverted to a gravel road that parallels Hwy, 93. up in the hills. Firefighters from all over the country and abroad are massing here. We saw 3 busloads from Missouri. Haven't spotted the ever loyal Aussie unit yet. We can always count on them!
